‘We managed to foster 88 dogs in 2 years. I wouldn't trade the warm feelings for anything.’: A couple's joyous journey from adopting two neglected puppers to becoming a foster family within two years

Some hoomans have a heart so wonderfully deep and wide that it can be almost shocking to see how far they are willing to go just to help another soul. And that is pretty much the story of the couple featured in today's doggo daily. The couple moved in together at the beginning of the pandemic, and while initially dogless, they brought home their first adopted doggo after only three weeks. The sweet pupper they adopted filled their hearts with so much joy that they began to think about all the other puppers who need a home.

This thought led the couple to consider fostering doggos who need a place to hang out until they are adopted. However, as they quickly found out, just because you foster a doggo in your home does not mean that you won't adopt them yourself, a slippery slope indeed. And so our heroic couple ended up with two puppers of their own. Thankfully, after pupper number two they were able to keep fostering without adopting and supported more than eighty darling doggos on their journey to their furever homes. What a hope-filling moment.

  • What a wonderful family. To have the heart to open your home to foster doggos during the pandemic is one of the kindest things that a hooman could do. Because while that time was tough for all of us, just think how many poor puppers were abandoned and left to fend for themselves.

    Rita has been diagnosed with lymphoma but we caught it super early and are treating it. The Dr thinks she could even live another 5 years and most likely pass from something else.

    Greger061 OP Agreed. Part of why we stepped up to foster was all the returns people did as they had to go back to work in person. Such a shame people give up so easily. My wife has a tailgate magnet that states, "Pet are not disposable."
